El Corazón de México and Latins United host the 4th Annual Grito Fest in the Heart of South Toledo!

TOLEDO, August 17, 2021- El Corazón de México folkloric dance group and the Latins United club host the 4th Annual Grito Fest (Street Festival) in the Old South End on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 3-11pm. 

Due to the pandemic and COVID – 19, the 2020 Grito Fest was an online event. But it returns this year to South St. Clair, the location of Latins United. The event features folkloric dance performances, live music, games, food, and contests.  The Cornhole tournament starts at 3:30pm.  Kids Lip Sync Contest and Kids and Adult Grito Contests will feature cash prizes.


The well-known dance group is celebrating 25 years and features 40 dancers, performing at 5:30pm and 8pm.  Los Aztecas band performs at 7pm.  

The “Grito” is a traditional Mexican yell.  Every year, the Grito is yelled in Mexico City on September 15 to celebrate México’s independence from Spain.   Cost is $5. 12 and under free with parent.
