Toledoís Science Center begins its 2021 Replacement Levy Campaign;

Issue 2 goes before voters on November 2, 2021

TOLEDO: Imagination Stationís replacement levy campaign has officially started in Lucas County. Science center Team members and volunteers have started placing more than five thousand signs at homes and businesses across Lucas County to get the word out to voters about Issue 2, why itís important and what it will provide for the community. Imagination Station Executive Director Lori Hauser will be available for interviews about the levy on Saturday, October 2 from 11:30am-1pm while she places signs in various neighborhoods. Issue 2 is a 0.1975 mill replacement levy. If approved, it will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $6.91 a year and will support temporary exhibitions, educational outreach, science center maintenance and new and exciting programs.

Imagination Stationís request is the smallest on the November ballot and would generate about $1.5 million a year, or 27% of the budget.

Imagination Station provides a critical layer of science enrichment by serving as an educational partner for teachers, schools and parents. Itís with a thoughtful blend of exhibits, experiences, education and excitement that Imagination Station inspires visitors to pursue STEM careers in Northwest Ohio.
